Last week, our residents from Duleek Care Centre embarked on a fascinating and enriching journey back in time as they visited the Battle of Boyne Visitor Centre! ?? This historic site holds significant importance in the annals of Irish history, and it was a truly special experience for our residents to delve into the past and discover the tales of bravery and valour that unfolded here. 

The Battle of the Boyne, which took place on July 1, 1690, was a pivotal event in Ireland’s history. It was a clash between two powerful kings—King William III of England (William of Orange) and King James II of England and Ireland.

As our residents strolled through the hallowed grounds of the Visitor Centre, they were transported back to the 17th century, witnessing the reenactment of the epic battle and gaining insight into the events that unfolded on that fateful day.
